Hi rage03usa, All
Quote: ........... running that th350 and my 3.73 posi rear end, im going to be turning a lot of rpms over 55 mph............... Welcome to the wonderful world of tradeoffs. The more power you make, the less comfort you can expect.
Where and how much you want to give up is your own decision. Quote: ...........how much power do you think that 200-4r will take with the 126k miles on it?................
You have a high mileage 200, and you have a 350 of unknown history.
If either was in an "as new" condition it would do the job with only a basic shift kit.
If you think the 350 is in good working order, I'd consider using it, and living with the highway RPMs while you save to rebuild the 200.
Since your 200 already has the hi performance internals, any competent trans shop can do a basic rebuild and you'll save shipping charges.
Check with your local mom and pop trans shop for a bench (you do the R & R and they do the trans) price along with a converter and a Trans-go shift kit, for the 200. It might be worth setting aside an extra $300 or so in your trans budget for a 2400 or so stall converter at the same time.
One of the few times I've farmed out a trans, Steve at Bowtie or 200r4 (same place) did a bench rebuild and added the TC lockup relay to my 700. He does quality work, but no better than any other competent shop.
His specialty is the conversion to overdrives in non computer cars, but yours is already done.
Not the first, or the easiest decision you'll need to make.
Regards, Norm |

dont quote me on this, because i havnt thought about it in a long while... but IIRC my 442 came with a 2400 stall convertor stock, it was part of the 442 package.
EDIT: i have a transgo shift kit for the200-4r sitting next to me, i never got around to installing it because the engine blew. |

Kit should be a basic 200-1, -2 is overkill for the street, and -3 is race only.

| I recognise Trovato's name from over at ROP. I have never seen any of his work personally but he seems to have a good reputation as a knowledgable builder. Good luck. |
