Oh no sorry I do speak English! I was joking cuz you made fun of my lack of "displacement dialect." Most of the mechanics guys I know refer to it as a 5 Liter not a 307.. sounds bigger? I dunno.
This is a very neat site.... glad my car is not doomed to become part of a dying breed. I am very interested in getting some performance parts for it; a tranny rebuild, perhaps an engine rebuild (has 230K on it but still runs decently for now!), some more intake, some exhaust work (tiny little pipe crimps the exhaust I think)... perhaps even a Supercharger- yup expensive stuff. I wonder if/when I can get to Fresno...
How much would a supercharger or turbocharger decrease mileage by anyway for an engine that size? Its mileage is kinda low already... it gets around 22-23 on the highway.

Since I do all of my own work (except some engine machining), I don't talk much to mechanics guys.
I grew up with the English system and American muscle, and metric measurement is still not used in making Olds power.

It takes more fuel to make more power.
There will be no measurable change unless you actually use the added power, in which case you will use more fuel.

In your case, more cubic inches is a better choice than supercharging.
