Hey all, just thought id post some pictures of my ghetto bodywork. I had to get rid of the bad rust and this is all I could afford to do. Sanded down the rust to bare metal, used some bondo, and sanded it down for some spray bom primer. I also had to hand sand everything, so my wrist is really hurting about now. It looks really bad, but at least the rust is gone for now. The car has to last me 3 years, so it will have to do.

Edit: Forgot to mention, it looks like the areas of rust that I worked on had been worked on before, but instead of bondo, it looked like they used wall plaster or something!?

Could be fibergalss/bondo mix...

may not look pretty, but it doesnt have rust anymore! pick up some color matched spray touch up, andd it'll look fine!

Yeah, it's a work in progress. Hopefully come February itll be fully set to run. I have to have the car on the road for 3 years then it goes into my future shop 8)

Sorry for the second reply, just got a picture of the last major rust spot that is gonna fail me the inspection. Not too sure on how to fix it. But hey, it was a $500 car, can't complain.

That'll require welding new pieces in......cut pieces from junk yard, and weld them in place of those rusty old parts....of course you'll need to know or know someone who can weld them in for you. Looks far too corroded to do anything else but weld better pieces in.

Yeah, I have access to some sheets of aluminum, but that wouldn't work right, guess it's a trip to the junkyard for me.

yup those cars are notrious for the lower apron rusting out
that is not a easy fix at all, to replace the lower apron is allot of work
i highly suggest that you do not attmept this repair your self
can a patch panle work??? yes but it is not repaired correctly
what you see is a structual part of the cars uni-body and it needs to be replaced

Well, shit. There goes the $2000 car budget. Not really a problem spending money on it though. I'll have to get it to a shop as soon as I can get temp tags. (don't have access tothe dealer tag anymore) What price will I be looking at, just to replace the panel, no painting or anything?
