I thought I had it worked out, but now both front arm rests sort just hang there, both are craked, they are useless. Has anyone taken them totally off and somehow placed the power window controls onto the door panel, or put in different arm rests?
I am having the same problem with my arm rests (all four) so I was considering making my own out of wood. Cut up a board, round the edges with a router, make all the nessasary holes, and finally get it wrapped vynil. Dont know if its a good idea, maybe when I start ill get stuck or it will look bad, you guys tell me what you think.
My husband thinks I should find a junk at a junk yard, and replace both front doors. Seems like a lot of work for door handles. The only good thing would be if I could find two front doors that have the crank windows, as my window lift motors are getting lazy. I wonder what years are exchangeable with the 87 Delta. Have to check it out.
I don't see why a wooden door handle wouldn't work, like you say, cover it in a matching cloth. Would look cool though just putting some varnish on it too. I am going to think about this some more. Thanks for the idea.
