I currently own a 1991 Olds Toronado Trofeo with the touchscreen VIC and I am planning on doing some mods to the VIC. I want to put in a DVD/CD player and use the VIC as the Television. I am good with wiring sound systems but I don't know what I can do to accomplish this task. I would like to switch between the VIC mode and DVD mode for the screen. Can anyone help me with this? What would I need to do to accomplish this? Thanks!

I think the VIC's CRT circuitry is designed only for itself, with no way to import a NTSC, or any other type of video signal into it. The only way I can see that happening is if you were to completely redesign it, or replace that CRT screen with an LCD touch screen, and re-design the vehicle controls. Either way, there is some major engineering involved...

Cool idea though... Really like it! Would also love to see pics of your VIC in action!

Actually I have heard that the VIC can display an NTSC signal, and that people have done it before. However I don't have any info on that at the moment so don't take it as gospel. If I come across the link again I'll be sure to post it here.
