Hi all, my Cutlass Ciera lights are going ever dimmer, and its time to get some new ones. Does anyone know where to get some decent price (under $40.00) which are bright. I do not want anything fancy, just standard bulbs.

Any help will be excellent!

I replaced the 9005 and 9006 headlights on my 93' Eighty-Eight with Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. They aren't blinding, but they're a lot crisper than the stock bulbs.

I got them off a lot on ebay which was selling them together for under 55 bucks.

also, just a tip: my headlight covers were a disgusting yellow brown, so i took a bottle of nail polish remover and wiped them down, and it really helped in getting the lights to a whiter color

If your wiring is getting not so good, it'll cause voltage loss and dimming of the lights. Heres an article directed to third gen F bodies, but the principles are the same for upgrading the wiring and all.

This thread is nearly a year old, and the OP asked what lights he should buy.

Some light bulbs actually get dim as they age, and some electrical components are not properly maintained. An improperly adjusted belt, for instance, could very well cause dim lights.

But since the OP specifically asked about bulb replacements, we can safely assume he already knew that.

This verifies what I already suspected: Another novice who "upgrades" because he/she lacks the ability to diagnose/repair the actual problem.

What do the defective wires in this particular "brand X" have to do with a Cutlass Ciera that needs new light bulbs?

he stated that they were dim. I tried to offer some help to the guy by suggesting that there is possibly a problem that he was not aware of, and could potentially help his situation. I didnt realise that these forums were so dead and that the thread was that old. I guess it must be hard to keep people around when you're such a dick to everyone. you didnt even offer anything worthwhile, just to point out problems with other people. because of you, 88 coupe, I will no longer return to these forums. it's sad when the only active members are the admin and a dick.

Post #2 covered it very well. There was no reason for me (or anyone) to add to it.
