Just bought a 1970 Cutlass Supreme convertible cloned as a (guess what) 442. It has a 442 grill, rear bumper with cutouts, trumpets, buckets, auto - Th400, 455 - 4bbl Holley, Cragers, side sport mirrors, W-30 Hood, tail fin, "12 bolt" posi rear end, front disc brakes, long tube headers, 2 1/2 inch exhaust with Flomasters and a Wonderbar radio that doesn't work. It is a dark Adriatic Blue metalic with white stripes (hood) and white top.

I've already had to put brakes on it and it needs a new top, new springs in the rear, a new radio and about 150 more horsepower.

Any tips on replacing the top with professional results would be mucho appreciated. Thanks. I'm sure I'll be bugging you all plenty from hear on out. I like to know all the details and right now I know nuttin. This is my first Olds muscle car. Once upon a time many many years ago I bought a new 1972 Cutlass Supreme, 350, 4bbl, four speed with dual exhaust. Would that make it a "4-4-2"? It fits their original description but, no.

'64 was advertised as "4 on the floor, 4 barrel carb, and 2 exhausts".
'65 was advertised as "400 cubic inches. 4 barrel carb, and 2 exhausts".

After that, it was just the name of an option package.

Thanks. You can probably answer this one too. My 442 clone (1970) has the W30 hood and it is metal. Everytime I read about a real 442, they mention a fibergalss hood. Did any of them come from the factory with the very heavy metal hood?
