Howdy... My name's Aubrey.
I own a 79 Firebird with a 1975 BB Olds 455. Currently in process of locating parts and part numbers for a mild rebuild. It is a running motor right now. My husband and I have been doing a lot of research about the motor, the origin, and the stats. We've found that it is the 'common' 455 and that it was built on December 3, 1975. The heads that were thrown on it by a previous owner (we shall call him ding dong) are from a crappy small block (#8 heads). I have C-cast heads for it. The C heads have been magnafluxed, milled, and valve seats reground with new valves. The cam kit I was looking at is a Comp Cam Kit #K42-222-4. It's mildly larger than stock, but the beautiful part is... It comes as a complete matching kit.

I've got a 750cfm Holley carb... We were lucky with that one. A friend of ours had that 750cfm and it was too much fuel for his SB Chevy... We had a 600cfm Holley that was not enough for our BB Olds. SWAP!
Now... The trouble lies within the exhaust. I realize there will have to be mods made to the headers no matter what. I'm trying to find shortie headers for it and I'm not finding anything at all for an Olds 455! Not for a 1975. Maybe some of you might know where to look. Any info would be useful.
Thanks a ton!
