Hi mechanic_28,

Welcome to TOC.

400/425 crank was only used from '65 to '67. In good condition, they are probably worth $150 max.

Ebay and Craigslist are probably the best sources, followed by Real Olds Power.

At the bottom of this thread user "Blownolds" says he has a couple- You have to register to use the PM functions and all, and sometimes it takes awhile to register on ROP. If you need a laison to get you in contact, PM me to let me know; I'd be glad to help.

Welcome to TOC-

Andrew

How is it different?

Stroker? An internet term that is all but useless.

400/425 stroke is 4" and 455 stroke is 4¼". A 425 crank in a 455 will get you 425 inches.

What is it, that you wish to accomplish?

The late 400 crank is the same as the 455 isn't it (Cast, 4.25 stroke)? The early 400, IIRC should be forged with the 4" stroke, the same as the 425?

It is.

3.870" x 4.25" = 68-69 400ci
4.126" x 4.25" = 68-76 455ci

Unless he knows something we do not.

4.000" x 3.98" = 65-67 400ci
4.125" x 3.98" = 65-67 425ci
