The rest of my fish are fairly large, so I haven't really had any issues with the pleco fighting with them... he's actually pretty timid and hides most of the time, or at least when someone is watching. When they are all alone, who knows? It always amazes me how much it seems like my fish have grown whenever I get a new addition for the tank, although it's been a few months since I've done that.. (too broke!) I figure that one of these days I'll take pics of some of the random stuff I have around the house so you guys will all know I'm not full of it! That'll happen when I'm trying to find something to help me put off the homework....

Brando,
Where in MI do you call home, if you don't mind me asking? My parents live just north of Ann Arbor (I grew up there and always love going home)

So I've finally taken some pictures of the aquarium and figured out how to get them up....
The whole thing...
A closeup of a few of the big guys...
The Pleco is hiding!

hmm...you posted the thumbnails....
But I'll edit it to show the full size pics.
Nice tank BTW, looks like you have an emperor 400 for filtration, any problems with it? I feed my CAEs the same algae tablets, although I'm almost out of the Wardley's, but I have these to rely on. A lot cheaper buying bulk. Another thing, Plecos like to rasp driftwood. This site supports my point, among others....

Thanks for fixing my pictures, that was my first time posting pictures in a forum... I'll get the hang of it soon! The filter is actually a Penguin Biowheel 350 that I have yet to have any problems with. I've had it a while, it moved from the 29 gallon tank I had before to this one, so I've had it a few years. I think I got it at Meijer, but I'm not absolutely sure. I'll have to make a pet shop run in the next few days to see if I can find some driftwood for my pleco... thanks for the tip! Maybe he'll come out and play more often. I honestly don't give him algae tablets all that often, maybe I should be more on top of that. He seems to have plenty of algae to eat on the tank walls, but I'm probably being cruel and starving him... one more thing to look into! Talk to you soon,
Carl

I got the lighting today and just got it installed, snapped some pics and here they are:
65w 6700K lighting (no camera flash):
65w 6700k lighting (camera flash):
3/4w LED Moon Light (illuminating the air bubbles):
THE FILTER! This has mucho power, and it is ultra quiet...very important in the bedroom...
The air pump is stuffed inside one of the dresser drawers...made the mistake of getting a dual diaphragm air pump. It's a bit noisy, not bad when it is in the drawer though.
As you can see there is a mirror behind the aquarium...
Think I might put a piece of blue posterboard or something behind the aquarium as a background.

I lost a gourami.... and haven't had time to do anything new or exciting to the tank. The rest of them swim on! Brando's update will probably be more interesting, but I had to throw mine in!

This is all I got for now....I was salting the tank before (no plants)....medications and medicated food. They seem to be doing great in their new home. Still need to pick up some blue posterboard for background.
Yes...I have some algae...appeared pretty quickly...it's a sign that the tank cycled...happened right away thanks to the ecomplete gravel and aquachargers in the filter I believe.
"Nothing to see here..."
Buddies...
