Hi all,

How long before the problem showed itself?

Norm, I would say I noticed within an hour of driving. Thats not to say the problem didnt exist the moment new fuel was circulated from the tank. The symptoms I noticed were poor throttle response, hesitation and rougher than usual idle. Although still driveable, it didnt run like it normally does.

Sarcasm wasn't intended. Lot of people talk about having the problem. Few have any actual information.

It's hard to learn about a subject, when you don't get any real answers. Or when the answers don't make sense.

Closest experience I've had, was old gas in cars that have been sitting a year or two.

I've heard that if you are parking a car for any length of time, you should either do so with a completely empty tank of gas, or a completely full tank of gas. It would make sense to me that you empty the gas from a vehicle that is going to sit, to avoid "old gas" problems. It would also make sense to me that you keep it full, to avoid corrosion problems.

I dont know what is best, any input?

That way you can be assured of having a full tank of bad gas.

So where do you guys go for gas? Who has the best gas? I used to think Chevron was the best, but there isn't one that I know of in the city I'm in.

I buy at shell, and safeway (I buy groceries there, and get a .07/L off). I will buy any place that boasts recent equipment.

I dont know why i didnt see this before!

Why do people think that the retailer has ANYTHING to do with the actual oil company??? Most of the big name stations and bulk plants are privately owned/operated while flying the company's colors. Any station owner will tell you they make more off the convenience store sales than they ever would selling fuel.

I get so angry when I see people flinging nozzles around, and smashing the buttons on the pumps. (I understand some of these people feel they are getting screwed at the pump, but they do not understand completely where the problem lies) They really dont realize the true cost of running a station, who has to fix them, and who really pays for that nozzle, or button panel once smashed.

Sorry for the rant. This topic hits home with me.

There are some, who do not know the difference between "revenue" and "profit". GraveReaper0 is one of them.
