I've come to the sad conclusion that I can't keep my 98... I've got to trade/sell it and my 92 Chevy G20 and get one vehicle that can serve all my needs. I can't tell you how badly I wish the Olds could tow my boat, as I've gotten quite attached in the last 27,000 miles. I'm going this weekend to look at a 97 Chevy 2500 passenger van... which should do the trick if it has the right rear end. My current van doesn't quite have the power I'd like while towing the boat (even on flat Michigan/Indiana roads), and I'll be towing it down to Atlanta soon. I don't think I'd make it through the hills on the way there. If the trade doesn't work out, you'll probably see my 98 up in the for sale section...

If it's all the same to you guys, I'll stick around and offer advice and ask questions where I can... I hope I've been helpful so far with my limited knowledge!

-Carl

I didn't want to sell my Olds either, but it needed $1500 worth of work almost immediately. I'm glad to report that the new owners like it, their friend stopped by the other day to see if I had anymore like it for sale

Thanks guys, I'm getting the van... It's DNR green and not quite as stylish as the 98, but it should do what I need until I find something I want. Anybody think one of the newer Olds wagons with the LT1 would pull my boat? :D

Zerepdivad, I'm sorry to hear about your Olds! I've spent so much money on mine... I can understand your frustration!

Don't be so down. I've sold many Oldmobiles that I loved, and miss. But you know what? There are still more out there to enjoy! :)

Sounds like this may be a point to advance yourself, and find a Rocket you will really like!

I had to sell this just to start a new job. It was 3 years of work to get it where I wanted, and I wasn't done. (See where the "RednBlack" comes from?) It was truly "One Of A Kind".
