Got a new monitor on the way, gonna be here tomorrow!
HP L2045w 20.1" Widescreen LCD

So why the new monitor? Well, my BenQ FP731 17" LCD died a few days ago. The backlight apparently went out. It's still under warranty, so I am sending it out tomorrow to get fixed. I guess I'll hook it up to my mom's computer when it is fixed. So far their support has been excellent. The guy that answered the phone was speaking perfectly clear English!

The HP monitor is the best deal I could find for the price, the stand is awesome, the screen rotates a full 90 degrees... Anything above 20.1" seems to be double the price, outrageous prices.

Why not? I was hesitant at first also, I was looking at a samsung before this one. But the Samsung only had height adjustments and tilt, and reviewers said the light bleed around the edges...around the same price as the HP.
It has a 3 year warranty like most of the others (my BenQ for example).

You just don't like HP or something?

I like their printers and thats about it. Well, I have an HP computer from 2002 and it still runs fine besides the power supply went out of it the first 6 months so I had to pop the internals in a different case. I've had a wide variety of their products and just wasn't all that impressed. Just a matter of preference :P

So you've tried their LCD monitors also?

I also have one of their printers, prefer it over our newer Epson.

Had one for a couple months, crapped out. Got a replacement, crapped out. Just stopped working. I can say I didn't like them that much.

I have an HP all in one printer and scanner and it's a pretty good product.

Been running a Wal-Mart brand one for 3 years now and besides the occasional fuzziness, it still works.

I just bought an LG 19" wide a few months back. Love it. 2000:1 contrast, 2MS response. Bright as hell, and DVI input which is spectacular. Cost me $227.00 CAD, which is a pretty good price even now. It was the "open box" model... NCIX, an online company, took it out of the box and took pictures of it for thier website. They replace the components, and sell it as open box. I'll take $75 dollar discount for that!

I got it earlier today (along with some new Anolon Advanced pots and pans for mom  )....This thing is beautiful..... No dead or stuck pixels whatsoever. The cords hide away neatly in the stand behind rubber pieces. Love the height adjustment, very easy to adjust. So far it seems to be a pretty solid monitor.

I have a hanns-g 19inch lcd. Has 3 stuck pixels, but it was really cheap.

Not really related to the thread, but i have some ghosting problems... anyway to get rid of them?

what's the response time? I didn't notice any ghosting on my BenQ, nor this one...which is 5ms. The BenQ is 25ms...
I gamed with it and noticed no ghosting, yet some other reviewers for monitors with similar specs say they do.

So I don't know, but the only way to fix it is to get a different monitor.
