The black car above isn't a GN- That's the Oldsmobile FE3X concept car, nicknamed by many "darth vader". It has one-off ground effects, and high performance suspension. I believe it could pull an even G or just under on the skid pad as well. It was powered by an aluminum headed 307, and had a 5 speed manual transmission.

There are only 2 in existence, one is in the olds museum, and another is owned by a guy by the name of Angelo. His is different than the original though- IIRC, his was built off of a H/O car, and there were slight differences in the hood and spoiler.

There were other FE3X cars too- There was a Frienza, and a Calais. But the project never really went any farther than that.

The only reason I am going on about it is because it is my favorite car too.

I am the owner of one of the 1985 FE3X cars. The car can be viewed at www.fe3xolds.com
The only differance between the Darth Vader car in the RE Olds Muesum and my Darth Vader car is , the GM owned one is a 5 speed manual and mine is an automatic featuring Hurst Lightning Rod Shifters.
The dash of my car is signed by Bill Porterfield who was the GM Enginnering behind the FE3X cars project and also headed up the Aerotech project that broke numerous landspeed records. also the underhood is signed by Gary Fulkerson of cars & concepts who did the conceptual drawing of the 85 Hurst
Olds with FE3X groundeffects.
My car has also featured a W25 functional ram airhood but now has the original Cowl induction hood and setup.
It is my favorite G Body Olds that olds ever made , they really missed the boat not bring this car to the production line

Thanks for the clarification and background on your car Angelo. I must say, every time I see your car, I get green with envy- You have one sweet ride.

Are you still selling the ground-effects?

Regards,
Andrew
