We have not yet addressed that shiny throttle body, yet.

From the same 3800pro.com thread that was referenced here.

Not quite so true. Ever wonder why golf balls are dimpled? It lets them fly farther, faster, straighter.

When the air stream encounters a little imperfection, like the fine machining marks left behind after boring out the housing, it creates little eddies, like what you see in white water rapids. This is happening to some extent down the entire length of the bore.

Sound bad? It's not, it's actually good. This turbulence is very very very small, and doesn't even extend a 1/16th of an inch into the main 'mass' of air flowing down the tube. What this small amount of turbulence does is keep the main portion of the airflow from contacting the housing, and helps keep the velocity up. Those little eddies help your engine ingest more cfm's of air, which means more cfm's of oxygen.

Yes, extrude polishing and having a mirror finish can help on the intake stream - when you're at very high rpm's constantly (a.k.a. nascar). Street - it's really not worth the gains that you 'may' have gotten, and from polishing the interior of the TB you'll never get a single horse or foot pound to show up on the dyno. Boring and polishing, maybe - but not polishing alone, especially not on a street vehicle.

And the "golf ball" thing?

It also applies to the rest of the intake system.

Yes, the many engines you have "tore" down. So many, that we can consider your anecdotal evidence, as scientific fact.

My car backfired and stalled becausse of a bad ICM module, not because of the MAF or injectors or anyother mod, but thank you for your assumptions.

As for my mounts it is a common problem with c-body cars 91-96, Most owners just tend to neglet them till they completley break.

as for the axle problem the strut wasnt pushed back into place before tightening it down, also the mount was completley trashed after i swaped in some newer struts problem was gone.

polished TB? yup its also bored out and polished and gutted, none of what jeep says applies to me and last time i checked jeep is not the automotive god of 3800pro or any forum. he has his beliefs othere people have theirs. but i guess all ported or polished TB's,superchargers, turbo's,Intake mani's, Cylinder heads must be a joke huh....

This isn't religion. Faith and belief don't make things work. Proof is in the pudding. However, you never have had any pudding, just assumptions that what you have done "increases air flow". No numbers, just the belief you helped it more than you hurt it. You are probably confused because it must take a lot of faith to drive your car with those modifications.

Nobody ever said it did.

True, i do not have numbers, but i guess going from a 58mm, to a 65mm+TB dosent help my flow numbers at all. it could be in my head or "ass dyno", can i borrow your machine so i can test my mod's to see?

lets see here stock: yes its modified th eoutlet was slightly enlarged to perfectly match the gasket, also note how clean it is.....

and the series 2 TB still stock just dimensions. note the dirtand this was after i i wiped with some carb cleaner, still needed a wire brush.

Little bit of gas dripped back in the manifold when i took the fuel lines off but thats the clear/brown stuff . The black caked on crap is a mix of PCV,EGR and EVAP function overtime. also seen here, which is like i was saying in the EGr thread a common sight.

Without them, we have no idea if these modifications helped, or not.

That depends on a number of variables, such as if your 65mm throttle body flows more air than the cylinder heads can handle in their stock form. When you eliminate a bottleneck somewhere, you create a bottle neck somewhere else. Flow numbers are pretty worthless if the components together can not process the air/fuel mix efficiently. When you enlarge the intake tract, you have to run more fuel to compensate. This can get difficult to correct when running the factory PCM. You run into similar situations with ignition timing.

If the components don't work together, all a person would have accomplished is a car that is less reliable than it was before, with less "performance" to boot.

This is rather difficult to explain, as there are many facets to how these things work together.

I am glad you can admit this.

Are you hitting on me? I don't have a chassis dyno, if that's what you are asking, but I am sure you could rent time on one for a reasonable sum of money.

Does not look clear, looks like glyptal.

And it doesn't look anything like oil vapors from a PCV.
