It has the 3800 Series I in it. The car runs but it's time to say goodbye. With well over 330k miles on it, and a number of recurring problems, I can't afford to keep putting money into it. If you want particular parts, let me know, and we'll work something out.

I hate letting go of this car since it's been in the family for so long, and I've had so many firsts in it, but if I don't part it out now, it'll sit until the rats make a nice home in it.

By the way, I'm the same Darknight that used to post here, but I couldn't log in by my old name for some reason.

Whatever I can't sell here I'll probably be forced to put on Fleabay, even though I have become increasingly agitated with that company over its outrageous listing fees.

Merry Christmas!

Hey DK!!! Long time no see! Finally letting her go? Its a sad thing. I would have taken your headlights off you, but just ordered one on ebay. There's gotta be something I need for my car... Let me think about it.

I kjnow you had the 3800, I have the 3.8L, so engine parts are likely out of the question.

Where are you located just in case we need to make a transaction?

I am in West Virginia and will do my best to offer fair prices and shipping as well. I could do package deals also, so you could have complete pairs in advance for a good deal such as grills, headlight assemblies, taillights, hood and trunk latches, etc... You could have a virtual parts bin for not too much, depending on the parts.

I'm very hesitant to start putting parts on Ebay, since I'd love to know where they're going, and Ebay is such a hassle anyway.

DK

Absolutely. I have the airbox right here ready to go. I could take $20.00 plus $8 shipping for the piece. It has a K & N air filter with it that I would be willing to include if you wanted it.

Do you need a coil pack? I have one of those too.

I don't really watch it so much as get an email if someone responds to my post, haha. It's hard to visit an Oldsmobile forum when your Olds is no longer in safe operational condition, and you don't have the time or money to make it so.

1988 Chevy Silverado 5.0 4x4 LWB 5 speed

Isn't the fastest thing around, but has some good points--gas mileage not being one of them, though it does compare favorably to the 350 automatics.

The 8 foot bed is great for hauling. I can go offroad like nobody's business.

BUT I miss the comfort of my Olds, the way the FE3 suspension handled, the cushy seats slung low, just all of it. I like cars in general, though trucks have their place.

I'm driving the truck because i did not have to pay for it. Makes sense, eh?
