Will a 89 antenna just plug into the old wires?

Hi 85cieraholiday, hello everyone,

Radio antennas are seldom (if ever) application specific.

If, externally, they look the same, and it was offered as an option on your '85, you won't have a problem.

Regards, Norm

You rocking the stock deck?

You'll need a lead from a switched source....either + ignition or if the radio happens to have a power antenna output...then use that.

Otherwise, the actual signal connection should plug right in.

I have no idea what you just said except yes its that pimp am/fm/cassette.

I put the antenna on today and it just plugged right in. Its much nicer having it hide in the fender when not in use.

Anyone know how many amps the stock radio is? I wouldnt think it would be that much.

I think he had a stock power antenna, so it was a matter of plugging a newer one in... At least that's how I read it.
