Alright, so I got both of them glassed, I sanded them a little bit, and cut the speaker holes out, next I have to bondo, sand, primer, resand....etc...etc, and I'm not sure yet how I am going to finish them off, possibly vinyl...maybe carpet, or just spray paint them the color of the body (Medium Garnet Red)... :) Also I'm going to spray rubberized undercoating inside the kicks...then I'll see how they sound, I migh put poly fill...don't know yet...

Sorry 88delta88, no pics during work....but I'll show you the link that got me in the right direction....kind of, I started swearing at this "Chris" guy when I was peeling the damn aluminum foil of the backing of my kicks
I should of used wax paper instead of aluminum foil, I recommend you do if you make some kicks too. Here's the link, http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/main/

It's a pretty good tutorial....cept' for the aluminum foil part
Also...I dunno how the hell he mounted those rings without any pipe hanger...must of had a helper to hold em in place....recommend either use pipe hanger or invite a friend/s over and put em' to work

hey brando, before you start sanding and bondo'ing, decide how you want to finish them. they have to be perfectly smooth for vinyl, but for carpet they can be rough.

Yes...that's one of the factors I was considering...
I think Vinyl would look really nice.... :)

Well...
I sanded down the fiberglass some more...
I sprayed a shit load of sound deadener inside the kicks, I held em' up to the halogen light and made sure no light shined through :)
Now, I am just waiting for that to dry....and either or some carpet, or start putting bondo on em and sanding em down...

Carpet sounds like the easy route to me....I dunno, what you guys think?
Then again...if I got acoustically transparent carpet...I could cover them in that, not require grills, and it would just look like a blob in the corner. The thieves wouldn't know what to think!
