I think what's scarier is the JB weld holding the two pieces of angle together-
Why did it take you months to change the trans mount?

BTW, what is holding your battery down? Looks like you are asking for trouble if you ever get in an accident-

uh it only took me about 20minutes to change my mount, what are you talking about? andrewk wrote: BTW, what is holding your battery down? Looks like you are asking for trouble if you ever get in an accident-
I have the j hook setup which wasnt pictured, thats sort of a "mock up" at the moment. I had to see how far my cables had to be run etc.... The pic was the in between phases.

91parkave wrote: Its 2 pieces of angle iron welded together i seriously doubt JB weld would hold that together. Maybe its just me, but I don't see any heat marks (bluing, etc) that are consistent with a butt-weld like that. Most welds you see that aren't finished (IE painting, etc) have a clear line of apparent heat concentration from the intense heat of the welding process. The weld looks darker than the angle, which led me to believe it was a cold weld material, like JB weld. 91parkave wrote: uh it only took me about 20minutes to change my mount, what are you talking about? 91parkave on Bonneville Club wrote: ........ ive kept measurements of the radiator support over the months even after hard driving there is no change in measurments so the rad support has not bent in anyway ........ 91parkave wrote: ........ it was a temporary mod ........ So if it was temporary, and you drove it this way "over the months", and you did it to take stress off of the mount to change it, I ask again, why did it take you months to do it? Now especially since it takes 20 minutes. 91parkave wrote: I have the j hook setup which wasnt pictured, thats sort of a "mock up" at the moment. I had to see how far my cables had to be run etc.... I probably would have considered a box, but if its secure, that will matter the most.

Depending on the gauge of the metal and other varibles, yes bluing can occur but not always. If you dont believe its welded than zoom in on the picture if you think im lying. 91parkave on Bonneville Club wrote: ........ ive kept measurements of the radiator support over the months even after hard driving there is no change in measurments so the rad support has not bent in anyway ........ 91parkave wrote: ........ it was a temporary mod ........ andrewk wrote: So if it was temporary, and you drove it this way "over the months", and you did it to take stress off of the mount to change it, I ask again, why did it take you months to do it? Ok let me clarify:
The Nylon tie strap was reffered to as the "temporary mod" it was used to change my trans mount.
The engine mount was questioned by wilren on bonneville club because he said, the rad support was not strong enough and would bend under hard acceleration. Thats why i took before and after measurements and even to this day the rad support is strong and hasnt bent in anyway. Do you get the complete picture now?

Why do you think any of us would make such an assumption?
Could it be, because you only posted a "during" image, not before and after examples along with it?

Why did you post your hack job, instead of what you actually have?

91buickman: We can see why you do not like to post quotes along with your sources.
If you did, you would be unable to change the statements to fit your replies.
Everyone: Please excuse my rude use of fonts in the following response.

I already had it. I was there at the time.

Arent you the same one who was saying the use of large bold words was childish etc... yea you are the one who said that. dumb&dumber wrote: 91buickman wrote: ........ First off thread inegrity is something you wouldnt know about obviously. second willren deleted my posts and sent me quite a bit of PM's which obviously you wouldve never saw which is why your simple mind would think what you think. dumb&dumber wrote: I already had it. No dumb&dumber you werent in my PM inbox, nor were you there when i posted and willren deleted, he also openly admitted to me that he was wrong for doing so only because i didnt take his shit, so he threw a fit and had it out for me, its that simple. dumb&dumber wrote:

That would be my fault but it dosent mask the whole thread. wait till you get to the part about the nylon engine straps, it gets even better
