Well, I got the baffles made for the EF-8s...mounting a 8" driver in a hole for a 6x9" speaker isn't as easy as it looks. I put a lot of thought into the design...lots of measuring...lots of trial and error. I need to pick up some nuts, bolts, and washers to mount the baffles to the car...but you can check out the progress I have made so far here

Hi Brando, All
Looks like they're directed at each other.
Regards, Norm

Hi Brando, All,
Quote: ........ they are angled to the seats (stock).
Thanks, now it makes sense to me. Too bad we won't be able to hear it.
Regards, Norm

Hmm...haven't updated in a while....
I got a different sub, I've had the EF-12 installed for quite a while now...it's a very tight/clean subwoofer, but the output isn't quite up to par to what I want....so I got a CDT SQ-12, you can view the installation here. As you can see, I'm not done yet....screws, binding posts, carpet, silicone, etc is all coming tomorrow from http://www.partsexpress.com (next day shipping with UPS Ground ). Can't wait to get it installed.
The 8" midbass are back in their boxes as they vibrated the rear deck too much the way I had them mounted. My rear deck carpet is worn out (looks like someone stuck something on it and removed it...tore the carpet off), so I'm planning on fiberglassing a sealed enclosure for them and a pair of CDT 6.5" coaxials I have.
We'll see...might just install the 6.5" coaxials in the stock 6x9 location and put some new carpet over the old rear deck (way too expensive to buy a new one from GM, over $100 if memory serves me correctly, for a carpeted piece of cardboard...plus it is no longer being made).

Wish I could spend $$$ on my car Got more important things to spend it on these days... Very nice setup brando. You've got prime taste in audio equipment.

Working on the box right now, got the supplies today. Almost got it together...will have some pics of assembly up possibly later tonight. Just need to silicone the seams and put the top on...and silicone the seams there. That'll be all for tonight, got to let the silicone cure for 24 hours (the fumes are said to be able to eat away at subwoofer spiders/surrounds...don't want to chance it). Then I need to carpet the box and make the grill for it...although I might just install the terminals and sub to see what it sounds like, since my uncle is coming over tomorrow (audio enthusiast/musician). Yeehaw!

The box is almost 2 feet wide...perhaps the pictures make it look smaller, it's a lot bigger than my previous box. SQL...if I was going for SPL I would have a different car and no back seat....
