Ok, my dad owned my olds before i did and he tried to put the wrong size speakers in the rear deck of the delta and ripped it all up in the process.
I've completely removed the rear deck to expose the bare metal and had to do some cutting to fit my 5.25 kenwoods correctly. I've got the speakers bolted in place but im not sure how to go about making a new rear deck so that they're hidden... Anyone ever tried this? a few suggestions would really help me out

Could use a piece of cardboard to make a template. Then you could use a peice of 1/2" mdf and use a router to cut out speaker ports, so everything sits level, and then carpet it. Thats what I would do... Or else go to the wreckers for a new one, if you want the easy way out ;-)

i managed to cut the holes and mount the speaker, what a pain though... i spent a few hours looking for a small enough drill to get into the harsh angle and eventually came across my good old dremel rotary thing burried under a mountain of tools, saved my ass a bunch. i also was able to find some old trunk matting to cover it all up with... i really need to get some pics up soon ive done alot to the olds this week 8)
