I've noticed a lot of people posting about charging system issues when it comes to their stereos. Maybe I'm just spoiled with an overachieving alternator, but with the Optima red top battery I have in my car, as well as upgraded ground and alternator power wires (2 gauge and 4 gauge, respectively) and a 1 farad capacitor, my lights never dim. The lights didn't really dim much before the cap, but I got it for next to nothing in a trade for other audio equipment. The alternator is newer, but I'm pretty sure it is just an oem-style replacement. It looks as though it was replaced not too much before I got the car (it was still shiny!). I can have my stereo playing with the engine off for a couple hours without worrying at a decent volume. It seems as though a battery upgrade may help a few of you guys with a lot less effort than trying to add a second battery. I am running an Infinity 7541 (4x111 watts rms) on a pair of components and a pair of 6x9s and an Infinity 611a (657x1 watts rms) on a single dual voice coil 12 inch sub. I bought the Optima before I bought the 98 and transferred it from my previous vehicle and am STILL pleased with its performance. I just want to see what other opinions are out there on this.

I have a dual "BLEM" battery setup :-) sure, blemishes are ugly, but theyre cheap and do the job just fine. I dont draw a tremendous amount of power, but when I do, the power is there for the taking.

BTW...I had one of them cheapo batteries, this one was from Meijer...came with the car (Intrigue)....left me stranded in the high school parking lot, immediately replaced with a red top that day.
