And you have two of them?
Dual 4 ohm?
So, 4 voice coils, 4 channel amplifier.

how much is the amp per channel RMS? if it was a 1 channel mono sub amp you can get a 4 ohm load on the amp by wiring the voice coils in series and the subs in parallel. i kinda doubt those subs will work with the amp you have. get a 1 ohm stable sub amp and wire everything in parallel, that will give you 1 ohm at the amp.

how much power does the amp put out per channel RMS? i think the only way you are gonna work this is to put each voice coil on its own channel.

Yes....like I said before....that's all he's gonna be able to do with that amp and those subs.

true, i guess he has no choice, but they are going to be pretty underpowered with that setup. i say sell the amp and look for something 1 ohm stable.

ok..a couple thoughts and questions here.....

1. Are those the GOOD Audiobahns or the CHEAPO Audiobahns?

2. If they're the GOOD Audiobahns, why would you skimp out on a el cheapo amp to run them?

3. If you had a plan when buying the subs, why buy 4 ohm dual voice coil subs, and then buy an amp which can't run them properly?

You won't be able to run the subs effectively in 2 or 4 ohm on a 4 channel amp. It will take a 2 channel amp to do this...Brando, if he wires each side of the sub to each channel,(LF,LR,RF,RR) then at some point or other he'll most likely be working both voice coils of the DVC subs against each other...

"What happens when you run different signals into
each voice coil of a dual voice coil speaker?
Essentially, if there is any difference between the signals driving each coil at any given point in time at a given frequency, the voice coils will either fight each other or help each other, depending on the phase relationship of the two signals at that frequency. This is not the same thing as bridging an amplifier and can create undesirable non-linearities and distortion because different input signals at each voice coil create shifts in the speakers electrical parameters.

For this reason, it is advisable to mono-bridge the amplifier whenever possible and connect the voice coils of the dual voice coil speaker together in parallel or series. If a dual voice coil subwoofer must be wired to two independent channels, the inputs to both channels should ideally be the same (summed mono) and every effort should be made to match the gains of both channels as closely as possible."

So, unless he ties the front and rear channels on each side of the amp together (RCA splitters), to basically set it up and a bridged stereo input, and bridged stereo output (if you get what I'm saying), this amp wok't even WORK with his subs...

I'm thinking this was more a case of "DAMN those chrome flame subs look WICKED!!!.....OH..LOOK!!!..theres an amp that says 600x4 for like $125..boy, did I get a steal!!!"...and then got home to wire it all up and went "OH SHIT!!! WTF did I get myself into!?!?!"

No disrespect intended, but just my .02 cents on the matter....

Yes...this is true about the mono thing, and many people have done as said, if you can't afford a new amp, just get some RCA splitters, or if that amp happens to have a mono switch...some do...probably not that jensen...

And, GOOD Audiobahn? I didn't know there was such a thing?
