Ok, so I've got my ashtray ripped out, waiting to have time to buy a head unit... for the replacement of the old ashtray "door," I'm needing to either find out where I can have rivets put in or use a rivet gun, or else how do I glue plastic to metal soundly?

JB Weld or JB Quik (if you're in a rush) works very well.

I tried epoxy... I have tons of it all over the place, but it just pops right off once its completely dry... the plastic and metal leave nowhere for the epoxy to cling on to.

I had the sugggestion of rivets by my uncle... anybody know where I could use a rivet gun? Weld shop?

a rivit gun isnt a big deal to get a hold of, I'd try going to a rental place... they'd likely rent one for a couple bucks a day. rivets themselves are dirt cheap too!

It would be money well spent just to buy a rivet gun. I bought one from Sears for $9.99 and rivets are probably less than $5 for a box.
If you rented one (do they even rent them?) for more than a day you could have your own.

Yah I was at the hardware store and saw one for $6! (Of course after I JB Welded) But I may get one anyways... I thought rivets had to have an expensive tool to be put in!
