Looking...but you'd be better off getting a mono...you really need it to be 2 channel? Highest 2 channel I can find is either 1,000 watts, 500 watts each channel or the JBL Crown which is like 1300 watts each channel!

This for two subwoofers? What's the resistance (ohm) load?

these are the subs..

their Audiobahn AW1000X series.

they say 600 watts RMS each.
they are dual voice coils and i have them bridged @ 4 ohm load.
the voice coils are connected and then their also bridged to the amp for mono..
i guess a 1 channel would work too, dont know that much about it. but it must run 600watts RMS to each speaker at least..

Image

this is the amp their hooked to right now..
Rockford Punch 250.2
bridged it is giving about 125 watts to each speaker witch is no where near what these speakers could handle.
i want to use this amp for my front speakers so i need a bigger amp for the subs..

So..right now you have them at a 4 ohm load, those subs are dual 4 ohm voice coil. So if you connect the two voice coils on each sub in parallel, each sub would be a 2 ohm load....then wire the two coupled voice coils together in parallel, and you have a 1 ohm load, which is great...you'll save quite a bit of money with a Class D mono amp, that will do 1200 watts RMS @ 1 ohm.

I'll look at your choices right now...be back soon.

Actually some of them are pretty damn expensive...
Here's what I found:
Audiobahn (wouldn't be my personal choice but seeing as you already have their subwoofers) - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ABNA12001DT
Kicker -
http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/KIC04KX12001Ultimate (Digitalis series is reviewed to be pretty good, best band for the buck, 1300 watts @ 1 ohm, just keep the gain down) - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ULTDD11300S
Kole Audio (1800 Watts RMS @ 1 ohm, keep the gains down) - http://discountave.net/q1kolaud1cha.html
Power Acoustik - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/POWA1800DB
Rockford Fosgate (1000 watts RMS @ 1 ohm) - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCT10001BD
Hifonics (1000 Watts RMS @ 1 Ohm) - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/HIFBX1000D

Out of all those amplifiers listed, my choice would be the Hifonics BX1000D....can't go wrong with that amp, been tried and true by many people, lots of good reviews. 500 Watts RMS to each of those subs would be perfect (600 watts rms would most likely be pushing those bahns to their limits [kaboom]).

ok first off you just blew my mind..
1 ohm???
the voice coils are connected in parallel and then the 2 speakers are connected together at back of box..
then i have a pos. and neg. from the box that goes to amp with pos. to 1 channel and neg. to the other channel..
did i screw up somewhere cause i was under the impression that it made it 4 ohms again by doing it this way..

here i took the time to make this lil scematic of the way i think they are currently hooked up..
been awhile since they where done so could be wrong..

evything looks right until it goes to the amp..
the wiring on your pic shows it going to just 1 channel..
what about the other channel?

Mono Amplifier = 1 Channel

Those are what the amplifiers up above are, Class D Mono Amps, highly efficient, only produce low frequencies.

ok..i just got out my manuals for the speakers and the rockford amp their hooked to.
their not running at 1ohm load because the amp is not 1 ohm stable..
says 4 or 2 ohms.
so that means that i hooked my speakers in series then paralel..
must be..
Image

if or rather when i get this class D amp then i will most certainly change them to 1 ohm..

Yes...a 2 channel amplifier is never 1 ohm stable, it can be 2 ohm stereo stable, and 4 ohm stable bridged, but that's it. Mono amps are far more versatile, perfect for powering subwoofers.

This is your current setup at 4 ohms (series and parallel like you said):
Image

And the above picture is the configuration which you would use for a mono amp, like the Hifonics BX1000D.
