The CS-130D 170 amp alternator, bolts up the same as the CS-130, but I'll need to adapt it to the CS-130. The CS-130D is quite an upgrade from the average CS-130 which is prone to failure with it's crappy stock cooling, the "Iceberg" kit from JC Whitney can help with that. But the CS-130D are already made for great cooling, 2 fans, open enclosure = reliability and high output
Well, you'll have to excuse me, I have school tomorrow and it's 1:30AM
My last day tomorrow and then three days of finals and I AM OUT OF SCHOOL (my junior year...senior next...woohoo)
i can see now that i aint getting this thing installed this week..
amp aint even her yet..due end of week..
plus i currently have 8 gauge power wire..
think i need 4 gauge..
i think when it gets here i'll just hook it up alone and with current wireing just to see what it's like but will slowly convert it all over to the right way..
I used to have problems with my headlights dimming to the beat, untill I put the second battery in my trunk. Acts like a huge cap, and stores enough punch to buffer the alternator. Ever think about doing something like that? Maybe you guy's have much more current draw than myself.
just a thought on the head light dimming issue. PLUS it might save you getting boosted some time from leaving your headlights on or something...
I would take a trip to a welding shop to find the best price on LARGE cable. I got 25 feet of zero guage cable for 20 bux. I also picked up 15 feet of 4 guage at the same time. The stuff is great, extremely flexible, and as far as I can tell there is just as many strands as any brand-name stereo power cable I've ever seen.
