This is a section that I dont normally post in because my radio doesnt even work. I am looking on ebay at the am/fm cassette from a 1988 Buicl Park Ave. Its the same model as mine (which is in the car just not working). Will the "mounting points" match (the screws that hold it on, will they line up?

If you mean they are the the same cars with different badges, and the radios are the same models, it should fit perfectly.

I hope someone gives you an answer you can use.

Under the circumstances, I understand your reasoning and don't have any problem with it, however, the following might help in the future.

On a busy site, the person with the best answer (along with many others) might not open your message because it doesn't look like it pertains to his area of expertise.
A similar notice will be posted in the "read this before you post" sticky or in the FAQ section at the site.

IMO: On a small site like this, all members and visitors are likley to read all recent messages.

May I see the auction? I'll probably be able to verify if it will fit, as long as they got a picture...

I would have to say it will fit though, it's an AC Delco radio, and as long as it's 1.5 DIN it will fit no problem, just as long as it has the right brackets.

Do you have the old radio? It should have brackets that are removable (bolted on), you can just put those on the radio from ebay and wallah....

I can say it will work, those brackets on the side, they come off and you can put the ones from your old stereo on it (that is, if they are different).

Well I lost that bid (wasnt home when it ended) so Im bidding on a 1996 Buick Century am/fm/cass.

okay...now that could be a problem...I believe they may have changed the harness style then.

Are you 100% positive because it is the same radio, even has the chrome buttons like mine (some had black/gray ones) even though that doesnt make a diff in the instalation part.
