Will this W35 spoiler fit my 1979 Cutlass Calais?

http://www.supercarsunlimited.com/Items ... goryID=346

It's advertised as
Quote:
The 3 piece design duplicates the original as used on 69 Hurst/Olds and optional on 70 and 71 Cutlass S and 4-4-2 hardtops.

I know it was not intended for my car, but would it fit without much hassle?

Also, please for the love of God, no arguing here please...

Just tell me.
YES, it would and/or could possibly fit
No, it would not fit

Thank you.

Anything is possible with enough time and money.

If you are looking to just bolt it on and go with minor modifications, you might have some problems.

Here is a picture of one installed, shamelessly stolen from the net.

Image

See how the decklid is slanted, but the wing is level, or near level? If the slope of your decklid is not the same, and it isn't, it will look out of place. Another pic-

You will also find that it might not look right because of how wide it is, because of the differences between the A and G body. All this could be corrected with some major modifications to the wing, but you would be better off finding one that came on a G-body, like this one. It has a similar look, without the hassle of customizing the W-35 piece.

If you want to do the custom work, by all means go for it, and please post some pics of the results.

Thanks for the straight reply, I really do appreciate it.

My customizing experience goes as far as spray-paint, so thats out.

Plus, that reproduction is almost $300, I would be afraid to drill new holes in it, let alone cut it down, etc.

However, Could you possibly point me to a G-body spoiler and/or reproduction spoiler?

Keeping the facts straight, are what it's all about.

I haven't seen a lot of these around, but I haven't been looking either. There is one on ebay right now...

I'll keep looking around, and if I see anything, I'll post it up.

A pedestal spoiler from an early to mid 80's Firebird or Trans Am can also be substituted.
