I think I'd better add little clarification to my last.
All my speed runs have been on closed courses, and recorded on Time slips.
Over the years I've found speedometers to be less accurate as speed increases.
On public streets and highways, I, seldom drive over the posted speed limit.

The fastest Ive ever seen my car go was last year before my aunt gave it to me, we were on the highway (interstate 95) and the speedo was just under 80mph. That old car gets quite loud when its going that fast (of couse even then the exaust was shot, and it was skipping, had vaccum leaks, etc) so it wasnt in the best of shape.

I should clarify on my one and only high speed run it was at 2am on a stretch of State highway that had no entrance/exit roads and no personal driveways in that area.

I don't exactly know how fast i got my car up to since my speedometer ends at 85 mph on my Delta 88. Plus ad the fact that i changed transmissions without changing the speedogear... then tack on that i got 275/60/r15 rear tires, throws my speedometer waaaayyy off. speedo says 55, im doing 65-70 . anways, few weeks ago i got my car up to what i assume to be 104-115 judging by the tach reading. 2.41 rear gears, 1.00 3rd gear, the 275/60/r15 tires, locked torque converter via switch makes speed of 104 @ 3000rpms, i was pushing about 3050-3100 messing with ninjas on an open stretch of highway. and at that speed... the big boat just glides thru the air. I looked at my tach, then looked at my girl saying, hey, we're going 100... maybe i should slow down. She didn't believe me cuz it felt like we were doing only 65. But i'm sure if i get a long enuff stretch of open road, plus take out the hundreds of pouns of stuff i got in my car i could prolly get going pretty fast... maybe i should throw in an OD Tranny?

My speedo stops counting at 140km/h... BUT, the ecm still knows how fast you are going despite the speedo's limit. This is where my dash computer comes in handy, once again. I can watch high speeds and get a digital top speed, although I havent yet. I do know this works though, because I went up to 148km/h the other week. Thats fast enough for anything I'd ever need!
