I'm pretty sure he does know what goings on, the internet isn't like real life, where you have to be there to know what's going on. All he had to do was read the previous post about the 600HP 455.
I don't see Norm as an ass at all, he has been here longer than you have, has provided legit info, and owns some sweet 50s Oldsmobiles
Somethings he says may not seem "right" to you, but people have their own opinions and sometimes they happen to be different from yours.

word brando. btw, I like your site, it has alot of info that ROP doesnt... kinda fills in the gap. I am also a big 80s cutlass fan, and it seems that you have alot of 80s guys here. But anyway, yeah, I am/was backing norm in this situaton, because he was right, and it didnt seem like he was being a dick by saying that the 455 didnt make 600 horses. Further, there is no way it could be making that much power, it doesnt have enough cam in it to do so. Norm posted a link on ROP and that is how I found this site, and I joined. Norm has alot of experience, and in all his ROP dealings, I have never found him to be a dick. But touche Joe, I wasnt trying to be a dick either, I was just trying to point out that Norm was right. As for the rice calling, idk so I wont comment, but if it had 4 cylinders, I wouldnt knock him for calling it rice even if it was american made. It may have been sarcasm too, but since I have not read that post, I will not comment on that. But I am not here to raise hell, I am here to share what I know and to learn from others. That is the reason why people like Norm call the bullshit, because they are trying to keep semi truthful info flowing and filter all the crap out. That is why I will call it too. Peace out!

Joe, I wasnt contesting that. Thats why I said, " but since I have not read that post, I will not comment on that." But yeah, not trying to start a pissing contest with you either. and justinwebb, if you go to ROP, you will see that I have had the same sig line for a looooong time. Merely a concidence that you used that right before I posted. But enough of this, we are typing in circles, lets get into it about another topic if you want to debate. Peace!

Hello All,
To Slims69442: You must have me confused with someone else. I have never been to and will never go to Norwalk.
Thanks for the help, but I will handle it myself when someone gets specific.
To anyone with a problem: POST THE QUOTE!!!
Regards, Norm

I thought so, at least sarcastically. When you said, "as sure as you are about ..." Idk, thats the impression I got. Isnt that what you meant?

Hi Slims69442, All,
Quote: ........... I know that I've seen that coupe run somewhere. ........... The images in my avatar and my album show two different '50 Olds coupes. The grey one hasn't been further that Phoenix/Firebird, since the mid 60s. The red one has not been east of Reno (Hot August Nights) since the late '70s. If you've been to any Nostalgia meets on the left coast, you may have seen one of them. Quote: ......... it's a sweet little ride.......... Thank you. You didn't, my post was a statement of fact, nothing more, nothing less.
Regards, Norm

Hi, andrewk42, All,
Looks like a little clarification is in order.
Quote: ......... Isnt that what you meant? ..........
If that's what I meant, it's what I'd have said.

Not at all. There are literally TONS of American "rice" out there. Next time your out cruising and see ANY American car with a wing taller than the roof or a 4"+ exhaust muffler thats being fed by a 1-7/8" exhaust pipe from a 4 banger, a ridiculous looking body kit, stick on flames, stripes, etc, etc. Then its rice. Domestic Rice.
Lesson over young one.
