Well, being that winter is coming on, I figured it was time to pick up the dreaded "winter beater". After trying in vain to talk my boss out of the 87 touring sedan we plan on using as a courtesy car for work, I was in the market for another car...as it happens, a former employee stops by today asking if we want a spare engine for one of the courtesy cars (as some of you know, we run strictly Olds FWD delta 88's and 98's simply because of the nice ride and reliability). Come to find out, he's buying a car that one of our customers has for sale, and was going to junk his current car, which really has nothing serious wrong with it, other than high miles, so as of the beginning of the week I'll be proud owner of an 86 Olds Delta 88 FWD.....total cost: about $75, or the cost of a new battery for the car he's buying. This brings the total of Olds vehicles up to 4 now:
'70 Vista Cruiser
'72 Cutlass S
'74 442
'86 Delta 88
Oh, I'm still looking around for an '81-up Cutlass to have as a father-daughter project to build for the daughter when she gets her license(she'll be 15 the end of next May so I still have a little time), and I'd like to sell the Voyager next spring and replace it with an earlier model Bravada if tax returns allow. Can you say hardcore Olds guy?
