Well, I finally decided to get this thing hooked up.
I already got the laptop, ALDL cable, and the WinALDL software.
The only problem is the laptop doesn't have a serial port, so I ordered a USB to Serial adapter for $4.99 off of ebay.
Yep, finally gonna hook it up 88delta88
Can't wait to see what it shows...
I was bidding on an Itronix laptop on ebay for $30 that had a serial port, and was a color touchscreen. They also are extremely rugged (military), check em out, they are the Hummers of laptops. Anyways, the last three seconds I was WINNING, then some (excuse my language) fag came and bid on it! That really pissed me off.....
Oh well...guess I'll make with what I got, but the touchscreen would have been nice....

sweet, brando!!! Its a really cool tool to watch, even when there's nothing wrong with the engine... And its even more cool to diagnose the motor when problems appear!!!

How is the screen on that toshiba? is it an active TFT or an STN? Sounds like a nice little ALDL donor...

Yes, I saw that, I now use something called "Auction Sentry" to do the same thing, except it's an actual program and not a web site...I don't really trust that.
