I found this when I took out the passenger side speaker, the orginal ones. they had never been moved on the car before.

Just wondering if this would be interesting to anyone or if it reveals much about my car's history or making? There's obviously intials or a signature on it.

Quality control tag from a vendor. Nothing to do with GM or the car.

Too bad. Would it be from the company that supplied or installed the speakers? It does say 'Olds' on it...

Vendor = Supplier.
Quality control (QC) = Inspection department.

Factory installations (regardless of the source) are done on assembly lines, by GM employees.

That only tells us that it was designed and manufactured for an Olds application. "inst. pan. /textron" indicates a part of the instrument panel manufactured by a company with the name "Textron". Probably a PC board made by one of its many subsidiaries.

It is possible that this tag originated in a GM receiving department, but it only shows that the part it was attached to, was checked/tested by "inspector #24".
