hey guyz,this may or may not be a tough question....can anyone provide me with a free list of motors for an 1985 delta 88 royale with 307ci,a/c. I wnt down to my local junkyard but i seem to have misplaced my list!!!! basically what cars can i retrieve an olds 307 or 350 from? thanks fellas.

oh and one other thing fellas,why would the steering pump belt AND the alternator belt keep coming off? The steering pump belt has been replaced atleast three times this year. And the alt belt only comes off the pulley,it never popps completly.thanks fellas

you need to make sure that all your pullies are aligned, use a straight edge and look, you adjust them by adding washers behind the brackets, as for the engines best of luck getting that olds engine though.

yea but it just got like that after i had the problem with it over heatin.i adjusted everything that could possibly adjusted.i cant go any where without the belt comin off.as soon as i go to a high rpm it comes right off

Is the tension set correctly? Are any of the pulleys damaged (EG bent lip)? If both belts come off at the same time, look at the pulleys they share in common.

You can find Olds engines in a lot of cars. Here is a list off the top of my head.

1978-87 Olds Cutlass "G-Body" (Not a Ciera) Watch for Canadian built cars, those will have Chevrolet engines in them.

B-Body (Delta 88) cars from 89 and older.

A-Body 68-72 (Cutlass, F-85, 442) You can find a 330 Olds in pre 68 Cutlii and F-85 cars.

Delta 98 77-84

Toronado 1979-85

There are more, including some non-olds bodied cars.

One thing to remember is that these cars often had more than one engine option. You will want to look at the block code, which is located on the top side of the timing cover, next to the oil fill tube, as seen in this pic-

This site can help you decipher the codes. It is a great resource, but not the authority on Oldsmobile. There is a lot of misinformation in here, but the block codes are good as far as I know.

I'd hit the yellow pages and start making the rounds at the yards. 307's are common as dirt around here, I would think they would be there too.

1985 Eighty Eight shows as being VIN "Y" version of the 307.

hey fellas another thing....for some odd reason i blow DOME light fuses like 2 days after i put a new one in.I recently put on in and i have even drove it since i put it in and 2 days laters i get in the car and the light or power locks doesnt work.This start when i had some body work done that involved swappin out the driver side front fender. so im thinkin something happen involvin the ground or horn to cause this.the fuse has be changed atleast 4 times within 2 weeks

You've got a short somewhere. A fuse won't blow unless the circuit it's protecting gets it's power shorted to ground. This will increase the amp draw on the circuit, and blow the fuse.

I would bet when you put the new fender on, something got pinched, but it is possible that the two are unrelated.
