Today there was a crazy sale at a performance shop. There wasnt too much parts for my car of course, so I just looked for ignition upgrade parts. I got a MSD GM HEI Rotor and a Accel Ignition Module for $120 Canadian Dollars of course. When i get a job, im gonna go back to them for Taylor Spark Plug Wires, Accel Spark Plugs OR Denso spark plugs (Still deciding) and a super coil from Accel most likely. Has anybody used Accel or MSD ignition parts, anybody have an upgraded ignition module? It should increase power slightly in the higher RPM range hopefully.

Hi speedy266, 73Delta88
Here is something all should know.
Aftermarket parts such as these will not make any power improvements (other than in your head) on a stock engine, and therefore, are a waste of your time and money.
As an example, the two coupes in my sig use original type points distributers and stock type coils, plugs, wires, caps and rotors.
Over the years I've tried the aftermarket stuff and have not seen improvement, on my timeslips, over my near stock ignition.
One of the traps is to replace plugs with platinum, splitfire, or whatever else there are out there. Car runs better because it needed new plugs and stockers would have made the same improvement.
If any of you guys feel the need to use this stuff just because it looks cool, that's a whole different subject.
Regards, Norm

Hi 88Ciera_SC, Hi All
Looks like you got my point.
Your new wires may or may not work any better, but they sure look good.
I think a little aluminum polish would make that cover come alive, and you might not even have to take it off.
I don't Know much about your new stuff. Is that air box plastic or aluminum? I'm wondering how you might make your rocker (valve) covers match it.
Regards, Norm

Like Norm said, those multiple tipped spark plugs prolong the life of the plug, not make for a better spark. The spark will jump from the center electrode to the outer electrode that presents the least resistance. Depending on dynamic conditions that change with each comustion cycle, one time it will jump to one outer electrode, the next time perhaps to a different outer electrode. Look at all the printed material and advertisements for these things closely, you won't see them showing a spark jumping simultaneously to two electrodes, if they do, they are opening themselves up to trouble for being dishonest. Back in the olden days, racers used to "index" their plugs which meant they would use thin washers to make sure the plug faced the correct direction (usually toward the intake valve) to ignite the incoming fuel/air wavefront the best to get the most efficient burn. Lots of extra effort for us street drivers though.
