Hi everyone. Well the 85' Caliente is finally here. The exterior isn't too bad.. there is some rust but not that much. The interior... wow what a mess. A friend is coming up today after work and we're going to take the interior apart and try and clean it. It does have a few problems.... but I am gonna see what we can do about them. Anyway... I'm glad I'm sticking with it.... I really love the digital dash and how it talks to you. Now, of course I do have a question. Does anyone have any idea as to where the external temperature sensor is? According to the car last night it was 154 degrees outside. I'm wondering since that is so off if that is the reason that I cannot get anything to come out of ANY of the ducts. No matter what I set the climate control to... no air will come out. Not even through vent. It's the TempMatic one. I have no idea where to even start here, so any help is greatly appriciated.

Check, and replace, any blown fuses.

OK, I will. But now... it's got more problems. It's started diesling, it makes a real high pitched squeal/noise when running at normal temp that when you give it gas it gets worse, and i can't get the driver's side seat to move... the motor makes the noises and everything and all the buttons on the switch work so I am guessing it's stuck?! I also checked under the hood and found some kind of connector disconnected so I reconnected it... no idea what it did. Could it be that the engine needs replaced? I just bought the car.. I'd rather not dump that kind of mulah into this fast.

high pitch sqeual is either fan belt, or your power steering pump maybe?

Mybe the 1st thing you should do is a simple oil change just because who knows how long that oil has been in the car, and cars always run better with clean oil. Check all belts, and other such little things that may make a differnece. Can you give us a better idea of the type of noise it makes?

Yea do all that and stuff... basic tune up, wouldn't hurt to chnge plugs/wires either.

As far as the seat... your more then liekly gonna need another track. my delta 88 does that, spins all it wants, just that the transmission *yea, thats what i call it * inside of it isn't being engaged by the electric motor. I shadderd mine to pieces seeing if i could fix it... i couldn't :?

OK... well my parent's really HATE.. I mean they hate it. Well.... we've come down to the noise is from a few belts..... so those are gonna go...but when i turned the steering wheel it seemed like the noise almost went away but as soon as I let go of the wheel it was back.... the batt needs replaced I have one that is sitting in the trunk... on initial starting the car makes it's noise.. sometimes it will stay... sometimes it will go...just really depends on what the car wants to do. The outside temperature is back to being right.. but now the inside one isn't. It said it was 133 today inside the car. I forgot to mention the Vacuum lines.. some are missing and what is there looks pretty bad... one part where the line just ends and should've gone on has a GOLF TEE stuck in it! I think either Tomorrow or Monday a couple of people and myself are going to start working on the beast. So I'll update you all on it then. The interior needs work.. mainly the front seats. This is going to be a long process... but it is fun. I'm going to make up a list of what all it needs. If there is anything missing from it that needs done right away please let me know.

if your changing all the fluids then why not do the transmission too..????

if you want to replace all the lines then i would get a chilton's manual to show the original run of the lines..
