Your in luck, im pretty sure u can buy the emblems u want, i was searching some parts for my Ciera, some replacement/ restoration parts seeing how age has worn out many rubber pieces. I was amazed to see that www.newgmparts.com has like almost EVERY single part you need for your car. The emblem for my ciera that sticks up on the front piece just after the hood costs 72US dollars, never knew they were that valuble. Some prices might seem high but its worth it. The site only lets u pick from cars 1980 and newer. Now that i think about it i could FULLY restore the exteior of my car like it rolled off the assemble line.

my 1988 delta doesnt have it... I think a lot of the higher end cars had the chrome trim stripe on the hood like that. Mine isnt a brougham, so thats likely why I dont have the trim. I do have proper working hood ornament and trunk key hole emblem.

Man, you guys make me feel like a B*stard child, did you know Delta 88 goes way back into the 60's, the 88 model goes farther than that. When you asked your question I knew you meant very late models but still......
BTW, anyone know what 88, and 98 meant? 88coupe don't say yet, let them guess, I know you know

I don't know about 98 but found some REALLY interesting things about '88'
Turns out that 88 is used by neo-Nazi and means 'heil Hitler'
Target got introuble for making clothing that had 88 on it...

Although i really highly doubt that was the intention of Oldsmobile to mean that, seeing as how the car was named 88 all the way back to 1949 all the way to 1999 in one form or another *rocket 88, dynamic 88, delta 88*. I'm quite positive that if anyone had a problem with 88 meaning 'heil Hitler' then it would of been renamed a LOOOOONG time ago.... so what does it really mean?

further research *OLDS FAQ* shoulda went their first....
Back in the good ol days when cars were made of this wonderful and glorious material called... METAL! .. Olds had series, 60 series, 70, 90.... a 60 series car with a 6 cylinder was a 66... 70 series with a 6 cylinder was a 76, etc... blah blah blah they made a series 90 engine with a 8 cylinder calling it the 98... which stuck because i think after that they all had 8 cylinder. They did some more tinkering witht he 70 series, then they came out with the Infamous Rocket V8, figured out they can shove this big engine into their light 70 series car, but instead of calling it a 78, they decided on 88... the rest is history... BTW, in my opinion... F the GTO... the 1949 Olds 88 was the FIRST muscle car

You got it DarkShadow, the smaller number the series was the smaller the car was, 60 series, I think being the smallest and 90 series being the biggest. This is from 88coupe, thanks bro.
