well... today i was driving around town in my 442 with the bad lifter. when the ticking got really loud. about 10 seconds later the fun begins :x the engine starts grinding and clanking and my rpms started fluctuating. managed to get her home... but it looks like its time for a new engine... earliest my mechanic can get to it is next thursday so i wont find out what actually broke untill then. :censored: :censored: :censored: affording a new engine is gonna be a problem with my part time job... so who knows when she will return to the road... :(

Well I would looking a Olds 350 or 403, You can usually find one thats running for less than 350 and plus their a direct drop in place of your 307

Yea what he said. If you are looking for 'originality' to an extent of keeping the same kind of engine, its going to cost even more since its a 'VIN 9' Engine instead of the more popular and abundant 'VIN Y' basicly the 9 is more performance... if you call it performance from the 307.
But if you don't care about that and you want to make that 442 roar, put a 403 or 350 as he said... or even a 455  as i'm doing to my 87 Salon
