For some reason there is no light in my trunk, so I want to put one in. Where would I pull a wire to power it? I don't have a multimeter which sucks because that would help out a lot, and I don't know much about cars. Any help appriciated, thanks.

My car came with one, and the wires run down the hing thing and under the carpet stuff in the trunk to some other place, not a very good description its it, tomarrow Ill have to look in the repair book for see if it shows where the wires go.

You can get a trunk light from your locak U-Pull-it if you have one nearby. Get everything, including the wire to as far forward as you can go, prefererably to the fuse box. Wire it to a fuse that is for accessory lights if you don't want it to work when the car is not running. If you want it to work when the engine is not running then wire it to a terminal on the fuse box labeled Battery but make sure you fuse it seperately! I repeat fuse it!!! 15 amps should be more than enough. If you can't get a complete setup from a junk yard then look at the auto parts stores, sometimes they have those kinds of things for sale. Usually they have the mercury switch built in so the thing turns off when the trunk is closed. Good luck.

Use a relay.

A relay switch uses a separate power line, it connects to the power wire to the trunk light to "switch" on in your instance the power to the neon light. You can view a diagram for hooking up the relay here

86 = + trunk light power
87 = + wire to neon
30 = + power wire
85 = - ground
