Alright. For the last two weeks or so I have been losing gas like crazy. I putin 3 gallons, drive for about 20 miles, and boom its gone. I dont have a leak, because there is no puddles undeneath my car, and you cant smell anything. Meaning my O2 sensor is shot, it was screwed up already, but now its just shot. So the question is.
How do I replace my O2 sensor. I can see it when I pop the hood, I got the V6 3300 engine. Do I just rip out the old one out and solder in the new one? or are there some kind of relsease latches, or what?

It should just be threaded in there..use a wrench (I use a small adjustable wrench). You'll have to warm it up though (run the engine for a while), cause it's in there pretty tight when it's cold. The new O2 sensor should already have anti-seize compound on the threads already...just a heads up.

on the rear exhaust manifold on top you will find the sensor it hase a 7/8 in hex on it and on a 90 it will have a single purple wire coming out the top if you have a tall O2 sensor socket you should be able to break it loose with a long ratchet and a long extension (the O2 socket will have a slot up the side to prevent destroying the wire but all you need is a deep socket and snap the top off the old sensore break it loose and install the new sensor with a wrench (if ya dont want to buy/rent the o2 specialty socket
(BTW there are other styles of o2 sockets that are very similar to a srowsfoot wrench but made allot beefier to handle rusted in o2's)
make sure tha engine is hot-it really helps (also helps burn your hand lol)

I think i wanna replace mine, wondering which one i should get? I have a feeling many are gonna suggest ac delco, any good aftermarket part maker for 02 sensors?

Ah...well...I replaced mine with a Bosch O2 Sensor.

i replaced mine w/ a bosch. Did it when car was somewhat hot to cut down on me burning myself. Used a 7/8" wrench was really easy.

Yah i currently have bosch as well, thought theyd have one of the best O2 sensors because it says they invented o2 sensors...

Actually Bosch seem to be a bad idea for the older 3.8's (95 and before). I had one that gave bad readings to my PCM causing a noticable loss of power compared to the old oem. I
traded it for another bosch and the problem was not as bad but car still seemed to be lacking on gas milage. I traded for a delco and never had a problem. I also have read many threads of people with similar problems with bosch, but mostly only with 88-94 LN3/L27/L67 3800s.

Although a lot of people did not have much of a problem.

I dont know they are usually around the same price. Autozone can order them in for a few bucks more than a bosch.
