I remember you had a plugged catalytic converter a few months ago... What ever happened to that problem? If it seemed to kind of clear itself up until now, you will likely be spending a bit on a replacement cat, or at the least, replace it with a straight peice of pipe.

If thats not the problem... Did you possibly buy a bad tank of gas? I've done that a few times, and when I fill up next, the problem dissapears! Run some fuel line anti-freeze through your tank to get rid of any condensation that might have frozen in your lines and be restricting fuel flow. Also try some injector cleaner to free up gummed injectors.

Hows the air filter? Not saturated with water enough to freeze up and restrict air flow? Worth a check anyways...

(I am assuming its winter-time conditions where you live)

Other than that, I would have to pass the buck to one of our more knowledgeable members... :-)

Good luck with that!

i haven't had time to look at the cat. converter......i was thinking since it sputters it might be the coil packs cause it was raining here the other day and it was foggy so i thought the condensation was doing it....or i thought of the fuel pump not supplying enough gas.....is there any way to test eiter one of these to rule them out?

Changed the fuel filter lately? In the last year or so? Do that to start with, but other than a fuel pressure test, there's nothing you can do to test the fuel pump for endurance. (That I am aware of)

Coil packs might have something to do with it, but I kinda doubt it because you said the engine boggs and is sluggish basically all the time. (not an intermittant issue).

I am going to stand by my first assumption that you are having catalytic converter plug-up problems. I say this because as soon as you start to increase the exhaust gas flow (step on the gas) it starts to bogg down.

Take the car into a muffler shop and ask them how much to replace the catco with a straight pipe. This should be CHEAP. And will likely solve problems for you.

have you looked at the plugs? you can tell alot by the condition of the plugs, as far as if it's running rich or lean, etc.... just my un-educated opinion.
