Just a question about digital dashes. I have a 87 Delta 88 Royal Brougham 3.8 engine that I just picked up as a winter beater. Question is that when I fill the gas tank up the gauge goes blank.( Does the pretest then goes blank, disappears.) Drive around for 80 kilometres ( Yes, Canadian ) turn off the key, restart and presto the fuel gauge is back. The rest of the dash stays OK. This is a digital dash not analog. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Digital dashes use Vacuum Fluorecence to light up that green color (unless yours uses LED's, not sure) anyways, maybe when you hit that last notch on the fuel guage, the last light has malfunctioned and shorts the guage out until your fuel level is below the problem light?
Maybe your sending unit has a short at completely full, therefore killing the guage until you use enough fuel?
Just guesses!

Thanks 88delta88, I'm going to go with the second choice as when it did light up again after about 80 clicks the gauge reads full with all bars showing.
Again thanks for the quick reply, Bob
