Ok, this is the second time this has happend in my car, but it almost cause me to total my car today pulling out onto the road.

First time, I was in reverse to back up, I stopped and put it into drive and all of a sudden it stalled. However this was with the old starter and it wouldn't fire back up, had to sit in a field for 20 minutes

Today, the second time. I was at a busy intersection I was waiting (car was idling in drive) for at least 3 minutes. I had an oppertunity to pull out safely, but when I gave it gas to, it just stalled and dried right there. Started right back up, but still could have been fatal.

Any clue as to what might be going on? I was thinking something about the torque converter, but todays episode made me think of the fuel pump. I mean it isn't happening alot, only happend twice withing the 1500 miles I've driven it.

The first time I was reversing going back into drive, may have not been fully stopped. Perhaps the converter stayed locked and stalled the car. I'm not too good on automatic transmissions, just a guess.

It was sitting for a little bit before I attempted to go. Maybe it's starting to go and wasn't giving the engine enough fuel?

Adam,

Have you tried pulling any codes out of your ECM yet?

Never really checked, the CEL light doesn't even come on anymore, but I'll check tomorrow before I go to work.
