I'm working on a 1999 silouette and need to get a smog test ASAP but I can't get the traction control system to turn off. I don't think it is a fuse...it starts its run routine normally at engine start up....so, I think it is the actual switch (which the face plate is in my hands).

Anyone have any advice for me?

I'm going to go get a hex-driver to get the back of the plate off to get to the switch...

If anyone knows what part # and location of a new switch please let me know. I'm on my way to fry's now.

Thanks much!!!!!

Welcome to TOC.

BO fuse would keep it from working.

fry's is an electronic store....and it does not appear to be the actual switch itself (not that I'm 100% on that).

The Manhattan Beach, CA store was one of my accounts at my last job. I get my computer parts at one of the others if I can't wait for the Computer Fair at Pomona.

A VOM, FSM, or both would be handy right now.

Yeah, I use to live next to that exact fry's...

I'm working on the multimeter right now. But am not an electric expert....it's hard to follow the wiring, it's like imbedded (sandwidched) in black plastic making it hard to track. If I could fiqure out the wiring I think I could bypass it (if its a switch involved).

I seriously need to resolve this so I can get that blasted state emmision test finished.
