As long as Ive had my car the powerdoor locks haven't worked right. The driverside lock will only lock 50% of the time, and in order to get the lock to work you have to press the "lock" button a few times. When doing so you can see the manual lever creep slightly each time until it finally locks. The passenger side doesnt lock at all (except manually). The swtich on the passenger door does however control the drivers door (as it should) with the same resilts as if I had used the switch on the drivers door. When I try to lock the passenger door with the power lock there is a clicking sound from near the door frame. I did check the fuse and it is good. Any ideas?

22 year old lock solenoids will do that..Try cleaning the connections on the solenoids. If not that then check the lock solenoid rods, they may be loose/disconnected.(driver side may be bent if it does not function properly)

I doubt it's the switches, but new solenoids may be in order!

Pull the pass side door panel off, then operate the locks while observing the locking mechanism and linkage.

WD-40 can help find any hangups, but you'll need to replace it with a good lubricant before you put it back together.

I've found this stuff works very well in these applications.

As always, your FSM is a handy tool.
