Just bought a '96 Ciera. 70,000 miles on it. New battery, everything looks good under hood.

When I drive at night with the headlights on and come to a full stop the headlights get noticeably dimmer. When the car is moving the lights are fine. Anyone else with a Ciera have this? Is it something to worry about? Should I have the alt. tested?

Definitely sounds like the alternator is having trouble keeping up...

Be sure to check that the belt is tight, battery terminals are tight, check the headlight grounds, unbolting them and cleaning them up with a wire brush might help...
