Hi folks. My son owns a 1991 Olds 98 Regency given to him by his father, which we are desperately trying to find parts for. The brake lines need replacing, and one of them is completely rusted through.

My repair guy is at a loss to locate the necessary parts. And when I tell you I don't know anything about cars, I mean nothing. What we're looking for is the line that goes from the ABS system to the wheel.

Any assistance that you all could provide, any direction in which to head, would be really helpful. If we can't find the parts, we aren't going to be able to keep the car - and that's the last thing in the world that I want.

Thanks,
Beth

Which body style is that one like again? cause i know the 90' regencys have like 15 different sister cars (same car different badges olds/buick 88/98 etc.etc. so if your son is somewhat mechanically inclined he should research what cars would have the same parts inside them, and with that many options you should be able to find car parts at the wreckers that will fit,
on another note i hate ABS lolz, i like it old skool

Hi Olds98Mom,

Welcome to TOC.

Your local Napa auto parts. Ask for "Bundy-flex" in the diameter, and length, you need.

Should be a hose, available at any auto parts supplier.

How long do you think it will take for a "used" brake line to rust out?

Cept how long do you think the car is going to last, they will proely grow old with it and want a slightly newer one, and if you plunder enough wreckers im sure i could find a basically new full ABS set.......if he wants to keep the car for ever and ever...like me, then sure go for it....proley going to cost atl east triple the price to get new parts for it.
