All this is occasially occuring in a 92' Olds EightyEight Royale

Last winter: At night at highway speed: headlights would dim when blower defrost on high.
At highway speed: speedometer needle whill drop a few mph when using turn signals.
The other night at 25mph: "AMP" indicator on instrument panel on. Next day checked alternator, week intermittent readings on multimeter. Took alternator to auto parts store, tested bad, replaced alternator. seemed to be ok.
Last night. After highway speed for about 2 hours. After I got off interstate, "oil" "security" and other indicators off and on randomly, Almost like start up self test. It stalled a few times, but started right up. I could get it to do it when turning on defroster, or using brake pedal. Seems to be electrical in nature, but totally intermittent. Any Ideas ?

Hi Danno, welcome to TOC.

Loose or inadequate ground in the electrical system.

Norm,

Thanx for the heads up. Any suggestions as to which ones should look at first? Are there any ones that are known to be problematic? I went over and cleaned a few of them today.

No.

"Problematic" is not part of any diagnostic procedure I am familiar with.

I finally diagnosed and repaired the problem today. I was the positive battery terminal. The threaded insert became loose within the lead. (another reason to dislike GM side post batteries) At least the grounds are nice and shiney...
