97 olds Regency. My interior lights won't turn off at all. The switches all work correctly. I have to pull a fuse or unhook the battery. The overhead lights up front will not even turn on. So almost all of my interior come on and stay on no matter what I do except the upper front dome lights, they will not turn on. Might I be on the right track to check the door switches where they meet the striker? I'm thinking that one of the switches is faulty and causing the car to think the door is not shut so the lights stay on.

My lights wouldn't turn off due to the drivers door handle. There is a sensor connected to that and if you unplug it it takes care of the lights staying on. I still haven't figured out why the overhead lights won't work though.
