Getting back on track with performance mods... I filled up with premium the other day!

(the only reason i did that, was because the station ran out of regular, and was selling premium for the regular price!!! yippee!)

What exactly can this ALDL software do? I have an 88 Delta 88. What would I be able to see with it?

The ALDL software allows you to monitor your engine. Oh...I haven't put a link up for the tech section yet, but I'll put it up, but 88delta88 has a section specifically on it. HERE

Dudes and dudettes alike, that's pretty darn awesome. All it needs now is a fancier dash layout. Sure wish I was able to make one.

Are you talking about the car computer? Yes it does need a fancier dash layout! I am planning to redo the console, and it'll look sweet!

I meant that it'd be cool if the software user interface had better graphics. I do plan on putting a computer in my car soon enough, however. Yours looks great! I kinda hate to give up my cupholder, though.

Ahh... look closer my friend! I havent yet decided whether it was a smart move, but I have a cupholder on the console itself. I know that I'll be careful, but I better not let anyone else use the cupholder!

EFI live has a really nice looking interface, but it is expensive! I think that if someone were brave enough, they could make thier own frontend to pickup the graphics end of things... I dunno! Its just so cool to sit and watch all the readings, and study them... Many readings I have no clue what they mean!

Stroker, there is a section on the program that allows you to log RPMs that have the most knocks, and a section for logging spark counts... What purpose would any of these functions serve?

Well, I thought it did resemble a cupholder, but I also thought, "no way this guy would have a cup holder right next to his screen." haha oh well, maybe it'll work if you don't spill anything. I'm probably gonna get a cheap laptop...just something that I can use for mp3, dvd, gps, and ALDL.

W/Z exhaust manifolds
3" true dual exhaust with Dynomax welded race Ultra-flo mufflers

Art Carr TH-2004R with 2200 stall

Rebuilt 7.5" rear
Richmond 3.73 gears
Auburn limited slip

Put on 17x8" wheels all around with 245/45ZR17 Yokohama A520's up front and 255/45ZR17 Yokohama A520's out back

Installed the Hotchkis boxed upper and lower rear control arms

Made my own front and rear frame braces.

Installed GNX fender louvres

Installed the Pontiac Fiero GT rear spoiler

35% window tint and of course the www.realoldspower.com window sticker

Jeg's High-torque mini starter

Ford remote starter solenoid

Upgraded battery cables to 1ga cables.

Installed F-body LT1 electric cooling fans

Mallory unilite distributor with HI-6 CD ignition and LX-92 race coil

Trans-am front seat, 3 gauge a pillar pod with A/F gauge, water temp and oil pressure

Replaced the stock gauge cluster with my own custom setup with VDO 3-1/8" 120mph speedometer, VDO 3-1/8" 7000rpm tach, VDO fuel level gauge and VDO boost/vacuum gauge.

Future modifications:

Replace the Offy intake and 850 demon with an Edelbrock performer and 800cfm Q-jet

Further down the road will most likely be a set of Rocket Racing heads and intake fitted for multi-port EFI and 1000cfm throttle body

The block will probably be worked over and fitted with a 425 crank, rods and pistons. Or I may go with a custom stroker crank and go for more cubes.

The cam will probably be a Bullet cam in the 220 or 230 duration @ .050"

The trans will be swapped out for a Viper T56 and GM conversion kit.

The rear will more than likely be a swapped out for a Ford 9" with 4.56-4.88 gears

Right now the car is being stripped of its interior to fix some rust and get ready for a mini-tub. I'm going to have the wheel wells widened a bit and then when the car goes in for paint, the body will be pulled off the frame and we are going to notch the frame in the back for wider tires. I'd like to get a set of 17 or 18x10's in the back with 315 series rubber.

There are a few other body modifications that are going to take place which are top secret right now. LOL

Oh, and I can't forget the new 1-3/4" headers I just bought. I was looking at making my own and had just started on them when a friend of mine finished a set that will fit inside the frame with a BBO in a G-body. Can't wait to swap out the manifolds for these.

Andrew, who are you on ROP?
What do you do to install the Ford remote starter solenoid? and from what model and make Ford do you get one? I don't have headers since it is next to impossible to get them for my make and model, I am the same OldsGuy from ROP so you have probably read my contributions to threads applicable to Headers on older B bodies.

I am still waiting to get my car on the road, after almost a year. Money and time, money and time. And the weather really puts a damper on tinkering too. Wish I had a nice fully decked out garage.

Anyway, to answer the question of this thread.

455 .030 over L2323F pistons for 9.75:1 compression without decking the block. Rods were conditioned and balanced but not replaced, original nodular iron crank. C heads mildly ported, center crossovers not filled cause I want the car to be real streetable (daily driver), SSI oversize valves swirl treated and undercut, Comp Cams adjustable rocker arms, bullet cam on one of UD Harold's grinds, 217/225 at .050 498/498 lift hydraylic. Cloyes double roller timing set. An old Edlebrock O4B manifold, stock distributor with pertronix innards. Still have the old Holley 650, it's too small and doesn't run worth sh*t! I have my eye on a Barry Grant Speed Demon. Andrew how do you like yours? Stock manifolds that I modified to be similar to W and Z manifolds. As soon as I buy the carb, get the car on the road and registered again, I will have 3" down tubes with Dynomax mufflers and 3" exhaust pipes dumped at the rear axle. A local shop will do the pipes and labor for $295. Oh BTW, Andrew, you will like the bulllet cam

While the engine was out I deleted the power steering for standard (steering by strongarm ), deleted the original A/C and all the associated junk the went with it, and deleted the Power Brakes. Can't wait to drive it this spring. Well, better go.
